In addition to maintaining a law practice for over 20 years, Larry H. Haber has been both a founding partner, General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer, broker and asset manager for fully intergrated commercial real estate firms specializing in the development, ownership, management and leasing of commercial and high-rise residential properties in the metropolitan area. Larry’s primary legal focus has been (a) the review, preparation, restructuring, negotiation and analysis of leases and agreements ancillary thereto and (b) commercial and residential real estate transactions, including the representation of sellers, purchasers, lenders, landlords and tenants (including Lennar Partners, Lehman Brothers, Stanley H. Kaplan Educational Centers n/k/a Kaplan Inc., Cogswell Realty Group, Murray Hill Properties, City Investment Fund, United House of Prayer and Gray Block Corp). On the business side, Larry has actively participated in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, due diligence, renovation and management of real estate portfolios in which he had an ownership interest.

Consequently, the firm approaches real estate transactions with a business mentality along with experiences gained and lessons learned as transactional attorneys, which when factored together, gives us a competitive edge when working with our clients at the negotiating table.

Jeff Baum, of counsel to the Law Offices of Larry H. Jeff Baum’s attorneys are admitted to practice in the Courts of New York, New Jersey and Florida as well as the Eastern District and Southern District of New York, the New Jersey Federal Courts, the Federal Court of Claims, the First Circuit, Second Circuit, Fourth Circuit and Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Jeff Baum has a unique business model, in that more than 75% of its income is generated by referrals from other lawyers as a consequence of his ability and willingness to handle “complex matters” in a successful, timely and cost efficient manner.

Jeff practices in the following areas of litigation: general and commercial, real estate, premises and product liability, general negligence and nursing home neglect, corporate and transportation. He has appeared in all Courts in the State of New York and has trial experience in both State and Federal Courts as well as substantial verdicts in the State of New Jersey. Jeff as a litigant is quite formidable and an asset to both the clients that he represents and the firms he is “Of Counsel” to (including The Law Offices of Larry H. Haber and Colgate Real Estate Advisors LLC).

Previously, Jeff was a principal in the firms of Baum & Holzmann, P.C. and thereafter at Blodnick and Baum, P.C. both of which were general litigation firms. During that time he represented a wide variety of clients relating to various fields of litigations. Jeff was outside counsel for many self-insured retail department stores such as Sears Roebuck and Company, Payless Shoe Stores, Caldor and May Department Stores (Lord and Taylor), engaging in all aspects of product liability, premises liability and security issues relating to retail operations. He was instrumental in the authoring of the Risk Management Manual with all principals during Caldor’s tenure, and was responsible for the defense litigation of all of the above major corporations in the New York area. Jeff then parlayed his courtroom acumen by undertaking the representation of an array of corporate clients and continues his success in the trial of commercial issues. He continues to litigate all areas of corporate interests.

Jeff is admitted to practice in New York State and Washington D.C. Jeff is also admitted to the Federal Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Jeffrey I. Baum graduated from the University of Florida in 1984 and obtained a law degree from Touro Law School graduating magnum cum laude in 1987.
